First Gig on July 12th, 1962 at the Marquee Club, London

On July 12th, 1962, Mick Jagger, Brian Jones and Keith Richards gave their first performance as The Rolling Stones at the Marquee Club in London.

By January 1963, after some personnel changes the final line up included Bill Wyman and Charlie Watts.

The band’s music was based on American blues,(later in the bands career they would actually take the blues back to America and give the blues a whole new lease on life).
Their first album released in the United States was entitled ‘England’s Newest Hit Makers’and contained mainly R&B covers with only one Jagger/Richards original, ’Tell Me (you’re coming back)’

Life Books has released a new book with photographs from the magazine’s archives and other sources: “The Rolling Stones: 50 Years of Rock ’n’ Roll.”
This will definitely be a book that every serious Stone fan will want to grab a copy of.

All we need now is confirmation that the Stones will definitely be touring next year, so far I’ve heard there are plans for a world tour which will include several concerts only at the major cities, so let’s keep our fingers crossed that they come to Sydney, Australia.
